7. Main topic:
Stratigraphic succession in deposits at the main stationary line of the Weichseian NW-glacier.
Elster, Saale and Weichsel Deposits, glacial thrusts.
The cliff exposure (of post glacial origin) illustrates a succession of glacial deposits dating from Elster to post Weichsel, located at the main stationary glacial front position of the NW-glacier during the Weichselian. In the south layered clay of Late Elster age is overlain by a dark till with prominent white limestone inclusions (Saale till). This till was deposited by a glacier coming from SE (probalby during the Hinnerup Stage). Further northward approaching the middle section of the cliff the Saale till constitutes the base of the cliff, whereas in the middle section itself the till is thrusted and folded into steeply dipping interlayers with coarsening upwards meltwater deposits and till of Weischelian age. The northern part of the profile and the upper part over the thrusted section consists of till stemming from the Weichelian NW-glacier, which also caused the thrusting. Locally the top of the exposed section exhibits post glacial lake deposits and aeolian sand.

12. Comparative evaluation:
The site exhibits the only cross section through the main stationary line during the Weichselian glaciation. The morphology is characteristic of the low degree of topographic variation across this elongate feature. Other tectonised and thrusted, as well as undisturbed, successions through Quaternary deposits are known from many localities (e.g. Odsherredsbuerne og Ristinge Klint). Often, however, prequaternary beds have been included in the deformation.
