Theme 5: Holocene coastal development

The dynamic coastal development in Denmark is outstanding in its variety, exemplifying ongoing coastal development, since the last glaciation, in unconsolidated sediments.

Within this theme there are four GeoSites.

GeoSites are:
Skagens Odde (GS 5-1) representing rapid building of a spit during regression.
Sydfynske Øhav (GS 5-2) representing gradual drowning of the archipelago during transgression.

Supplementary GeoSites to Theme 5 are:

Vadehavet (GS 5-3)
Anholt and Østerrev (GS 5-5)
