Theme 3: Moclay basin

The Moclay is an unique diatomitic sediment, with a rich fauna of fish and insects, deposited with interbeds of volcanic ash, and with extraordinary minerals.

The Moclay Basin of Northern Jutland

All the 5 exposures of the Moclay are GeoSites.

There are two main GeoSites: Hanklit (GS 3-1) and Fur (cliffs, GS 3-2)
